天気予報を伝えるアナウンサーの声がラジオから聴こえる。 各地の天気を読み上げていく単調な反復に、電波の干渉によるノイズが混ざる。 ノイズが大きくなると、その放送は意味を失いノイズへと埋没・同化する。 やがてそれ自体が一つの音響となりスピーカーから出力され、空間を埋め尽くしていく。
この楽曲中、演奏者は「アナウンサー」もしくはアナウンサーによって伝えられる「情報」、サクソフォーンは「スピーカー」の置 き換えとして機能し、両者が合わさることで、いわば「ラジオ」のオブジェとして振る舞うことが求められる。
The voice of an announcer giving a weather forecast can be heard over the radio. The monotonous repetition of reading out the weather for each region is mixed with noise caused by radio interference. As the noise grows louder, the broadcast loses its meaning and is buried and assimilated into the noise. Eventually, it becomes a sound in itself and is output from the speakers, filling the space.
In this piece, the performer functions as the “announcer” or the “information” conveyed by the announcer, and the saxophone functions as a replacement for the “speaker,” and when the two are combined, they are required to act as “radio” objects, so to speak.
